When my life hit rock bottom several years ago, I When my life hit rock bottom several years ago, I was committed to unlearning anything that did not serve me, so that I can experience everything in life with a beginners mind. 

In this information overload era, I often see one of the real problems is having access to too much information (often contradicting) and external noises. As a result, we adopt identities and desires from others believing them as our own. 

As a coach, I simply help guide my clients to peel off all the layers of fears and limiting beliefs, strip off all the societal identities & labels, leaving them at the core - a human being full of potential and excitement to live an authentic fulfilling, purpose-driven life.

There is one item that remains consistent in my da There is one item that remains consistent in my daily gratitude journal for the past year. That item is I'm extremely grateful and feel privileged to be a coach and be of service to my clients. It's a rewarding and humbling experience at the same time which often comes with huge responsibilities. 

In my opinion, one of the key success metrics of effective coaching would be when a client discovers the potential within, feel empowered to make changes and take control of their own life once the coaching engagement finishes. As a coach, we play the critical role of the guide holding a safe and supported space for the client.

If a client spends months, years into coaching and therapy not feeling any progress then something is not right. This was exactly the situation with one of my recent clients. After spending months in therapy, the client had come up with a long list of fears and limiting beliefs without knowing how to address them. At times looking back into the client's past is required to understand the root of any patterns. But as a coach, we must help and guide the client to build resources within to achieve the desired outcome. 

My coaching approach - 5 D's to client success

🔯 Decision - Often starts with the client making a decision to change.
🔯 Discover - Taking a personalised approach, I help the client to re-discover and re-write their life’s stories. 
🔯 Define -  Guiding the client to define short and long term success based on their core values and purpose aligned with living an authentic life.
🔯 Do the work - Supporting and holding a safe space for the client to do all the necessary inner work to achieve desired outcomes.
🔯 Dance - We finish by celebrating the successes and integrating newly acquired knowledge and skills into their daily life fully empowered and equipped.

Another four weeks of extended lockdown is in Sydn Another four weeks of extended lockdown is in Sydney. Like many others, I’m experiencing mixed emotions and feelings. I’m grateful to be alive and safe. But at the same time, it’s also important to honour the feelings of sadness, frustration that I’m feeling. 

Often we tend to label our feelings as good feelings or bad feelings. In my opinion, there are no good or bad feelings. To be human, we need to experience the full spectrum of human emotions and feelings from time to time without suppressing, avoiding or dwelling too much. My invitation to you all today is to give yourself permission to feel all feelings and gently be aware of the feelings without any judgements.

Here are few tips to better manage unwanted feelings ;

🔯 Observe - Be an observer of your thoughts and feelings rather than an active participant. Let the thoughts and feelings come and pass through. When an undesired feeling knock on your mind’s door, say “Hello” and gently close the door. You don’t need to invite them inside and watch the mental movie again and again.

🔯 Journal- Expressing thoughts and feelings into paper helps to get this out of your mind. 

🔯 Move body - Move and connect with your body. Choose a movement that feels natural to you. Walk, yoga, run, swim or exercise etc. It helps to release all stagnant emotional energy trapped in your body.

🔯 Grounding -  Mother nature is the biggest healer. Take any opportunity to spend time in nature and be present to experience all the surrounding beauty.

🔯 Connect with others - Reach out and connect with friends, family or colleagues even virtually to share your feelings and check on them as well. You’d be surprised to see how much they care about you. Perhaps they are also going through a similar struggle. Remember, we are all in this together, and you are not alone.

Any sustainable true transformation and success, w Any sustainable true transformation and success, whether it’s health, relationship or wealth - start internally before it can manifest into physical reality or the outer world. In this instant gratification era, often we skip this important step as it can be uncomfortable at times. As a result, we then often find ourselves either not achieving any desired goals or receiving something which we don’t want. 

I’m here to remind you that achieving true success is a process that first starts with awareness and asking yourself a question - “Are you living a life authentic to yourself and realising your ultimate potential?” if the answer to this question is NO, then the good news is that you now have a choice and power to design and create a life well-lived.

At my rock bottom in life, the answer to this question was NO for me. I knew I needed to make major changes. But, I made a big mistake like many others trying to DIY the entire transformation process by myself. Even though I got some results initially but in the long run, it cost me more money, time and effort trying to figure out everything by myself and left me very lonely in that journey. I guess I had to learn the lesson the hard way that youtube is good for if I want to DIY an art project NOT when I want to design and create an abundant life…….. 

Finally, when I accepted this fact and conquered this mental barrier by getting help from the right coaches, mentors who already walked this path before me, I was simply unstoppable. I started getting results in no time. Often we get in our own way of achieving success. My encouragement to you all is to ask and accept help from others when needed. I can assure you that you’d be surprised by the outcome.
